AND YOU ALL THOUGHT IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.....

Well we proved you wrong! After 9 years of dating and living together, Ofelia and I finally tied the knot today at 10:00am. We decided to just go to the courthouse and have the County Judge preform the ceremony. Including getting the marriage license the whole ceremony took about 15 minutes.....ha! My brother, sister, and nephew (Matt, Angie, and Harrison) came and watched and took photos for us. Ofelia and I took the day off from work, but we'll be back tomorrow....isn't that so romantic..ha! ha! The girls are going to summer camp this Thursday for a week and a half and I don't have Wyatt this weekend so her and I will sneak off for a mini-honeymoon this weekend. Then later this year, probably sometime in September or October we'll disappear for a week or so for the real honeymoon. I'm trying to talk Ofelia into taking a cruise, but she's still not sure (she's afraid she'll get sick on the boat). If not a cruise then maybe a week in the the Dominican Republic or Cozumel. Ofelia and I will both be out of town next week for work and then the following week we go on vacation with the kids. So sometime within the next month or so, Mom and Angie are wanting to have a party for us out at Angie's house, so stay tuned for date and time!

STILL In Memory of Danny G. Cypert

First things first, I want to say a heart felt "THANK YOU" to all of the people that have posted a message on the blog. I have gotten to know some of you over the phone like Debi, Carlos, and Megan; I can honestly say without a doubt that you were definitely part of Uncle Danny's family! After talking with you, I feel like I have known you for a long time even though we have never met, that will change May 10th. I look forward to meeting all of you! My sister (Shelley) and I will be at the service and all that follows. For anyone wanting to know any information about Uncle Danny's memorial service, go http://www.uflac.org/ (the United Firefighters of Los Angeles website), all the details for the service are on their homepage. From everything I've heard, Uncle Danny's Memorial Service is going to be "Off the Hook"! I plan on taking many pictures during the service and I will post some of them when I return home. One last thing, if anyone leaves a post, it does not list your email address. So if anyone would like or need to contact me, you can email me at dcypert69@hotmail.com (Put "Uncle Danny" in the subject, that way if it accidentally goes to my junk mail folder, I'll know to open it anyway). Until next time...WALK GOOD!!!.............Dan

In Memory of Danny G. Cypert

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my Uncle Danny. He was killed Friday night in a motorcycle accident in Arizona. My Uncle Danny was a Captain for the Los Angeles Fire Department and worked as a paramedic for almost 38 years. He was 65 years old and loved riding his bike. He was a member of the LAFD Firehogs Motorcycle Club, a club made up of LAFD firemen & paramedics (view their website at http://www.firehogs.org/ ). He thoroughly enjoyed living and was quoted by my father (Danny's brother) as being "The World's Oldest Teenager". I didn't get to see him very often, but I did get to talk to him more frequently via email (he always had good jokes to send my way). Nothing has been set as far as services, but they will probably be in L.A. I plan on attending to pay my respects, so I'll keep you all informed. I can honestly say that he left this world doing what he loved probably the most. KEEP ON RIDING UNCLE DANNY!!!............................Dan

What a week!

Well it's been a exciting and expensive week. Wednesday Wyatt got his braces, he picked out black and blue bands (see picture). So I got to make a few car payments for the Orthodontist....ha! ha! Also on Wednesday at school Kalin got tripped while running in a relay race during recess and took a dive on to the blacktop. She received a good case of road rash on her hip, arm, and shoulder. Now for the part of the story that will make you want to call Child Protective Services on Ofelia and I (just joking). Wednesday night she complained about her arm a little bit, but I thought she was just sore from taking a header on the concrete. Ofelia ended up picking her up early from school on Thursday because she wasn't feeling good. The girls had a basketball scrimmage game that night, so we took her and Katherine (Kat played and Kalin sat on the sidelines since she was gimped up). One of the girl's coaches is a doctor so he took a look at it and said in about 2 seconds "It's broke". So needless to say, we felt like real fine parents....ha! He made a call for us and Ofelia took her in Friday morning and they X-rayed her arm and sure enough it was broke (one of the bones in her forearm - just above the wrist. So now Kalin has a pretty blue cast. We have to take her back next week for a follow up X-ray because it was still swelled up today when they put the cast on. So that means Kalin's done with basketball and gymnastics for the next few months. Well that's enough for now, I'll try and post some of our Spring break pictures of our snowboarding adventure. Until next week....WALK GOOD!...............................Dan

Welcome to our Blog

Well here's my attempt at keeping everyone up to date with what's going on in our lives. I'm terrible at passing on information to everyone (Ofelia will definitely agree!!!). So when my sister, Angie, started a blog for their family it sounded like a good idea to try one too! I don't know how often I'll be making post, but I'll try and do it on a regular basis. I'm not too much of a computer geek, so we'll see how it goes. If any of you out there want me to post something on our blog for everyone to see, just send it to me.
Well that's all for now......Dan

This is a test to see if the blog is up and going.
